Who Now?

I love it when the hosts of marginally popular reality shows talk about how "America" is watching: "Jen, America wants to know why you didn't accept Jerry's proposal," or, "Coming up next, America votes for the next super-duper cover model!"

Stop it. "America" isn't watching your show, at least not the demographic that should be defined as the paradigm of American citizens. Your total viewership doesn't even match the population of Virginia, let alone America. Your show in no way represents the general consensus of all Americans. Heck, our elections don't even do that.

Mix CDs

Today my friend gave me a ride to go grab some dinner. She had a mix cd and the song "Loser" by Beck was playing. During those split seconds of silence in between songs, in my mind I was totally excited because I knew "Back in Black" by AC/DC would play next. When Blink182's "All the Small Things" came on instead, I was confused and distraught. Then I remembered that it was HER mix cd playing and not MINE.

Whenever I burn a CD, I always spend hours planning out the song order because I'm too cheap to buy re-recordable CDs. I never remember that I live in the 21st century where we are blessed with a "shuffle" button. I'm an idiot who will never get those hours back.
