Some artists are never going to be able to get out of this idea of ORIGINALITY and OWNERSHIP of ideas. I agree that if someone uses another's idea, even with changes, the original artist should be credited and compensated whith a share of the profit, but what need is there for PERMISSION to use IDEAS? Can you really say that idea is yours? Where did it come fromt? You wouldn't have had that idea if you hadn't had the education you did, the experiences, read the books, seen the films, studied the sculptures that you did. So that idea is 100% yours, huh? You would have had it if you'd spent your whole life in a black box? Come on. Cut us a little slack. We ALL steal our ideas, but put new paint on them, and give them a jump-start. We don't create the ideas from nothing; they accumulate.
